About us

Humane Society International (HSI) Europe is a leading force for animal protection in the EU, with active campaigns to replace animal use in scientific research and product testing; to combat the slaughter of seals, whales and other marine life; and to improve conditions for animals farmed for food, skins and fur. HSI works to reduce suffering and to create meaningful social change for animals by advocating for public policies to protect animals, investigating cruelty and working to enforce existing laws, educating the public about the issues, and conducting hands-on programmes, such as assisting animals when disasters strike. HSI represents more than 11 million members and supporters worldwide, with offices in Brussels, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, China, Costa Rica, India and the United States.

FOUR PAWS is an international animal welfare charity that was founded 20 years ago in Austria and now has offices in nine European countries. The EU-wide presence enables FOUR PAWS to campaign on a European level. We operate four sanctuaries for rescued bears, a wildlife reserve and also run a large stray animal project in Eastern Europe. We work tirelessly to end the suffering of millions of animals each year by running campaigns to help: laboratory animals, companion animals such as dogs and cats, farm animals, circus animals, wild animals and animals killed for their fur.
